I know we do some weird shit over here in the states, but I just can’t get over the oddity of a cookie (sorry, biscuit) called ‘ Digestive’.

It sounds like a cookie you would only see given out at a nursing home.

Digestive comes from the fact they contain sodium bicarbonate and was believed to aid digestion. It’s since been disproved but the biscuit has always been called a digestive and so the name remains 126 years on .

Its like a laxative you would expect to see in a CVS or Walgreens. I still don’t take the name seriously.

I think the weirdest shit we ever named was Hydrox for the oreo cookie competitor. Hydrox sounds like a 1920s snake oil elixir that’s mad e of hydrogen peroxide and radium.

No. These are pretty random ones I picked up.

I do love a good hobnob though. I love the chocolate and the plain ones but I’m on the fence about the choc chip ones.

I ate so many damn Hobnobs when I lived in the UK.  Usually with coffee or tea.

I’m jealous of your TimTam’s.  I actually went to the hassle of importing them from Australia to the US one time.

I didn’t realize prepackaged cakes were so ordinary outside the states. I truly need to take  a junk food world tour.

Yes, I think. I feel like we’re mocked for the sheer quantity of pre-packaged “processed” items available. Granted, your packaged cakes look better than some of our grocery store  bakery items.
